Now El Averno is taking the lead in organizing the development of the Quilca Arts District in collaboration with the municipality of Lima and in partnership with FUERZA.

LA QUILCA ARTS DISTRICT OF LIMA

El Averno, located on Jiron Quilca, two blocks from La Plaza San Martin, has been the epi-center of cultural change and alternative artistic expression that has captured the attention of the media, the sympathy of the locals and the support of the broad intellectual element of Lima. At first, the municipality looked at this new arts scene as strange or even controversial.

Today, the city has changed its position and has begun supporting and encouraging the cultural efforts of FUERZA's president, Mario Torero, an effort he terms The Master Plan. Through this plan, Torero will layout a format for an evolutionary cultural-urban scene to further expand cultural tourism in La Quilca Arts District.
